Texas studio Janimation brought me on to illustrate and animate this advert for American eyecare experts Pearle Vision. It was awesome working in this Saturday morning cartoon style, to help explain myopia and make an eye exam a fun experience for kids. I was responsible for animating the whole segment and illustrating the main student, teacher and class room interiors.
The Janimation team were a blast to work with. The timezone difference between Texas and New Zealand was a huge advantage. Janimation would receive client feedback near the end of their work day, which happened to be the start of mine. So I’d get any changes done and a new version would be in their inbox ready for review when they woke up. The client appreciated the quick turn around.
ILLUSTRATIONS
In addition to animating the video I was also tasked with illustrating the interior of a science classroom, which would be seen from several different angles. Plus creating teacher and student characters. I was able to use previous Pearle Vision adverts as a style guide so that my new characters would fit seamlessly into the established world and style.
